The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was an event to
remember in America's history. It was remembered as the colonist took stand against the British for taxing much more for tea than any other item. This was one of the turning points for the 13 colonies to earn their/our freedom. The patriots, including Paul Revere, and other citizens and colonist took 3 hours between 7 and 10 PM to dump the cargo into the Boston Tea Party. They had dumped 92,000 pounds which is about 49 tons of tea. The East India Company had lost about £9,659 or 1 million dollars worth of tea. That had angered the British and made the Parliment have 4 new laws (Acts), which you can find the name of the four different acts in the "Effects of Boston Tea Party" tab which is the second tab. |
